SOUP Start Up Procedure

Now we have setup our config files, we are ready to start the SOUP filter (the SOUP control laptop may already be running, in which case please ignore this section).

  1. Boot up the SOUP laptop This is in the observing room, between the CT and AO control machines.

  2. Plug in the power supply cable to the rear face plate of the SOUP. There is no power switch for the new SOUP motors, so during normal operations it is recommended to leave the motor power on at all times.

  3. Turn on the D3040 LCVR controller box This is a slim black box marked ``Meadowlark D3040''. The switch is in front of the unit.

  4. Start the SOUP control program (TF). This is on the SOUP laptop in /:D/data/SOUPfilter/TF06Pete
    SourceCodePCB02/TF.exe

  5. Select remote control From the primary menu, select r. Now the soup filter can be run remotely from the control computers.
