The Interface

The camera interface lets you control and display multiple cameras, as defined in the common config file (see section 2.1). The interface is shown in figure 1 running three cameras.

The settings you change on the interface will apply to whichever camera is currently selected. To select a particular camera, click within the image corresponding to that camera. Then you will see the camera name in the left upper corner of the interface. Changes to settings will now apply to that camera.

It is possible to change the settings for more than one camera at a time using a 'connection set'. To do this, you need to add each camera to the set by clicking first in that camera's display and then enabling the 'Connection Set' toggle button.

Please be aware that, for any changes to take effect, you must hit 'enter' after you have changed a field. The individual settings are described below.

Gamma
The display gamma (i.e. contrast).

Min
Low display treshold, anything below this value will be set to 0.

Max
High display treshold, anything above this value will be set to white.
Gain
Initial gain setting for cameras having a serial interface (NOT the old 1.6 cameras with an external control box).

Exp. time
Exposure time used for the marked camera or the cameras in the connection set.

Repeats
The number of repeats for the running sequence when the cameras are in 'save all' mode. Setting this to 0 means it will run indefinitely. Note that repeats MUST be set to 0 if using more than one camera, at the same time, in any save mode.

Frames
The number of frames to save in each repeat. If in dark- or flat fielding mode, it is the number of frames added together, when running in Polarimetry Sum mode, it is the target number of frames collected per LC state.

x
The x position of the upper left corner of the sharpness measurement window (green box).

y
The y position of the upper left corner of the frame sharpness measurement window.

nx
The x dimension of the sharpness measurement window.

ny
The y dimension of the sharpness measurement window.
