SOUP Sequence File
This file details what spectral lines you wish to observe, what offsets are to be applied, and which LC states to use. Sequence files are located on the SOUP camera computer under
/home.local/obs/cameras/soup/
Here is an example:
;pic line offset wide/narrow modulationm sequence relative
exposure delaytime
fpic 28 -86 0 6302 1.0 0.0
fpic 28 14 0 6302 1.0 0.0
- fpic Filtergram picture designation, which is used
for all lines, some older sequences may have vfig but ignore the
difference.
- 28 Spectral line reference number. See D for other lines.
- -86 The line offset in mÅ relative to the line shift determined during SOUP calibration (see section 6.2). Here, calibration gave a line center shift of -36 mÅ, so to
observe at 50 mÅ left and right of the line center corresponds to -86 and 14 above.
- 0 The band mode of the line: 0 = narrow band, 1=
wide band (used for wide lines like H-alpha).
- 6302 Determines the LC states observed for that line. The LC
sequence with this identifier preceded by LC1_ and LC2_ is
used for this line (e.g. LC1_6302 and LC2_6302).
- 1.0 If using Sarnoff cameras for the SOUP, ignore this.
- 0.0 The additional time delay (in seconds) that the program will
wait for the filter tune before it gives go-ahead to the SOUP camera. This is needed in cases where the filter does not finish tuning before images are
taken.
Now you are ready to run your SOUP sequence.
