How to Perform a Full System Power Reset
It is possible that one of the telescope motors will fail to initialise, or will stop working during observations. One possible remedy is a full system power reset, as described below.
- Stop the software and shut down the computer.
- Switch off the computer (royac27), which is located in the passage between the control room and the optics room.
- Switch off all the power in this room.
- In the main fuses room (inside the electonics lab at the bottom of the stairs) switch off the three fuses marked TOP TOWER
- Wait one minute, then switch them on again one by one.
- Back in the control room, check that all three yellow lights marked MAIN TURRET POWER are on. If not, check the fuses at the top of the tower.
- Switch on the power in the passage and start the turret computer.
- Log in as obs and start the software.
