Control Room LEDs

The following table outlines the meaning of each of the control box LEDs.

Colour Label Description
Green MOTOR POWER ON The motor power is on. This means that both red emergency stop buttons are released and that the motors have power. Note: one button is at the top the tower near the ladder while the the other is in the control room.
Green BRAKE OFF The brakes have been released. This is necessary in order to move the telescope.
Green MOTOR ENABLE BY SW The software has enabled the motors. This is necessary in order to move the telescope.
Green SCHUPMAN COVER OPEN The Schupman cover is open. This is necessary in order to take observations.
Red SCHUPMAN COVER CLOSE The Schupman cover is closed. This is necessary after observations to protect the output window.
Red MOTOR POWER OFF One or both red emergency stop buttons are depressed.
Red BRAKE ON The brakes are applied so that the telescope cannot move.
Red AZ CW SWITCH MOVE CCW Azimuth has hit an endstop. Move azimuth in the counter-clockwise direction using the service program (see appendix B).
Red AZ CCW SWITCH MOVE CW Azimuth has hit an endstop. Move azimuth in the clockwise direction using the service program (see appendix B).
Red EL CCW SWITCH MOVE CW Elevation has hit an endstop. Move the elevation in the clockwise (-) direction.
Red EL CW SWITCH MOVE CCW Elevation has hit an endstop. Move the telescope in the counter-clockwise (+) direction.
Red TELESCOPE CABLE PIPE The white azimuth cable pipe has become detached from the holder under the azimuth counter weight. See section A.1
